HC stays ouster of 291 TGTs in Haryana

The Punjab and Haryana high court stayed the ouster of 291 trained graduate teachers (TGTs) in Haryana.

Justice HS Brar acted on a plea from Savita and others challenging the revised final result notified by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission on May 28.

The revised result ousted 291 candidates, changed cadre/post for 227, changed sub-category for 193, and added 355 new candidates.

The petitioners argued they were not given notice or hearing before their appointments were cancelled after serving for two years.

The court noted the fresh result caused 'adverse civil consequences' to approximately 711 candidates without notice or reasoned order.
