Shekhar slams police crackdown on student protesters at Jantar Mantar

Shekhar Suman's "Shekhar Tonite" opening monologue slammed the police crackdown on student protesters at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on July 20, calling it heartbreaking and stating he cried for three days.

Suman questioned the violence against students who were demanding education reforms, saying they were beaten with batons and left bloodied.

He invoked the Mahabharata as a metaphor, stating the conflict began when authorities stopped listening to youth.

Suman had previously backed Sonam Wangchuk's hunger strike, and Bollywood stars including Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt also expressed support for the protesters.
