1,900-km bike expedition from Delhi to Dras pays homage to Kargil bravehearts

A group of 30 motorcyclists, including serving officers and military veterans, completed a 1,900-km expedition from Delhi to Dras to honor Kargil war heroes.
The 13-day 'Shaurya Vijay Yatra' began on July 14 and ended on Kargil Vijay Diwas, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh flagging in the team at the Kargil War Memorial.
The riders carried an urn with sacred soil from the National War Memorial, which was offered to the defence minister and handed to the 8 Mountain Division for placement in Kargil.
The expedition paid homage at memorials including Chandimandir War Memorial, Rezang La War Memorial, and Leh War Memorial, and interacted with 'Veer Naris'.
Participants included retired IAF officer Group Captain Sanjay Misra and his wife Priya Misra, who noted challenging terrains and changing weather as major obstacles.
