Mumbai: Special Court Acquits Shiv Sena UBT Leader Anil Parab In 2023 BMC Engineer Assault Case

Special Court for cases against MPs and MLAs acquitted Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anil Parab and other accused in a 2023 assault case involving a BMC engineer.

The court found no evidence proving the accused were the same persons who obstructed public servants during duty.

The case stemmed from a June 2023 incident where Parab and party workers allegedly assaulted Executive Engineer Keshav Dhotre and Assistant Engineer Ajay Patil over a demolition.

Witness testimony indicated a peaceful 30-minute meeting before a scuffle broke out over destroyed photo frames, but did not identify the accused as perpetrators.

The acquittal was based on lack of evidence linking Parab and the others to the specific scuffle or obstruction.
