StepFun, a China-based AI company founded by former Microsoft executives in 2023, unveiled the StepX Neo as the world's first mass-market agentic smartphone.

The StepX Neo features an integrated AI agent that can complete complex multi-step tasks across apps with minimal user intervention.

The smartphone is powered by StepFun's in-house Step Edge foundation model and runs on the company's custom Step AOS operating system.

The device includes an offline AI assistant, enabling functionality without continuous internet connectivity.

This is StepFun's first consumer hardware product, marking its expansion into the smartphone market.
