Delhi court stays non-bailable warrants against student leader Aishe Ghosh in ’21 case

A Delhi court stayed non-bailable warrants (NBWs) against student leader Aishe Ghosh for protesting outside Banga Bhawan in 2021 over alleged police action against Left-wing youth organisations in Kolkata.

The NBWs were issued on April 11 after earlier warrants from December 12, 2025, were unexecuted; the court stayed them until the next hearing with a direction to appear in person.

The order by judicial magistrate Vijayshree Rathore of Patiala House courts came after Delhi Police entered the CPI-M office to execute the warrants, leading to a confrontation.

Ghosh's advocates moved an application stating she could not appear due to unavoidable circumstances; the court perused the record before staying the warrants.

Ghosh and her counsel had not appeared since August 2024, leading to multiple bailable warrants before the first NBW in December 2025.
