Assam chief secy reviews flood situation, asks all depts to expedite relief work

Assam Chief Secretary Ravi Kota reviewed the flood situation and instructed all line departments to expedite repair and restoration work.

Special focus was on the deluge-hit districts of Charaideo, Sivasagar, Jorhat, and Golaghat.

Kota directed uninterrupted distribution of relief materials and essential services in relief camps and affected localities.

He urged central agencies including the National Disaster Response Force, Indian Army, and Air Force to enhance assistance.

Floods hit 11 districts, affecting 6.53 lakh people and killing 10 in one day, with the death toll for the year reaching 41.
