A week after survey, Chandigarh railway station traffic chaos persists

CTU buses struggle to negotiate the sharp U-turn towards Madhya Marg due to illegally parked auto-rickshaws and cabs, causing frequent snarls.

Traffic police have impounded half a dozen auto-rickshaws and issued challans for illegal parking and missing or invalid documents.

The designated CTU bus stop is being used as an unofficial parking area, with cabs, auto-rickshaws, and two-wheelers entering the bus bay, creating a potential accident hazard.

Railway authorities plan to widen the bus stop, but the bottleneck is expected to persist due to the congested U-turn outside the station.
