Woman run over by truck after falling off scooter due to a pothole

Sunita Akshaylal Pal, 46, died after being run over by a truck on the Thane–Bhiwandi road near Rahanal village.

The accident occurred when the scooter, ridden by her husband Akshaylal Pal, hit a pothole on the waterlogged road, throwing both off.

Sunita landed in the middle of the carriageway and was run over by an oncoming truck; her husband sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment.

The Narpoli police conducted a panchnama and sent the body to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital for post-mortem.

Family and residents demanded the Bhiwandi Nizampur City Municipal Corporation repair potholes and provide financial assistance to the family.
