Ladakh L-G approves new sports policy offering monthly scholarships, one-time cash incentives

Ladakh lieutenant governor Vinai Kumar Saxena approved a new sports policy for Ladakh.

The policy offers monthly scholarships of up to ₹1 lakh for international gold medalists, ₹75,000 for national gold medalists, and ₹10,000 for state-level gold medalists, with proportionate amounts for silver and bronze winners.

Medal winners in competitions like National School Games and Khelo India Games receive scholarships for 12 months from the date of winning.

The policy also includes one-time cash incentives of up to ₹1 crore.

The policy follows the principles of 'Scout, Facilitate and Recognise' and aims to transform Ladakh into a premier sporting destination.
