Multi-asset funds saw sevenfold higher inflows than balanced funds

Multi-asset allocation funds attracted ₹38,027 crore in H1 2026, about 7 times the ₹5,586 crore inflows into balanced advantage funds.

The higher inflows were driven by strong gold and silver returns and investor return-chasing behavior, according to experts.

SEBI mandates multi-asset allocation funds invest in at least 3 asset classes with 10% minimum allocation each, while balanced advantage funds can adjust equity and debt from 0% to 100%.

As of 30 June, there were 34 multi-asset allocation funds and 36 balanced advantage funds, but scheme count alone doesn't determine inflows.
