GDA to redevelop three residential towers in Vaishali

in5points
Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) plans to redevelop three residential towers: Alaknanda, Mandakini, and Satluj in its Vaishali Housing Scheme.
The towers, constructed in 1990, have structural issues and received complaints from residents; Alaknanda and Mandakini have 79 flats each, Satluj has 160 flats, all 10 storeys.
A 2019 survey by Jamia Millia Islamia found the towers structurally stable but needing reinforcement; GDA now opts for redevelopment over retrofitting.
A committee of officials has been formed to implement redevelopment based on a state government policy issued earlier in 2026.
Alaknanda and Mandakini towers are occupied, while Satluj is vacant due to its condition.
