UP Vigilance arrests LDA engineer, two others in ₹7.5 lakh bribery case

UP Vigilance arrested LDA junior engineer Dinesh Kumar Verma, supervisor Chandra Prakash, and private individual Shravan Kumar for allegedly accepting a ₹7.5 lakh bribe.
The arrest followed a complaint that Verma stopped construction at a site and, through Shravan, demanded ₹15 lakh to allow work to continue.
The complainant agreed to pay in two instalments of ₹7.5 lakh each and alerted the Vigilance Establishment, which verified and caught the accused accepting the first instalment.
The three allegedly misused the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) portal to file a complaint as leverage for the bribe demand.
