Indian man dies in road accident in Detroit; his two-wheeler was hit by a car; developed cerebral fat embolism

Nithyanand Reddy Gannu, a 26-year-old Indian man, died after a road accident in Detroit on July 18.

He was riding a two-wheeler when hit by a car, suffering multiple injuries including a severe fracture.

After emergency surgery, he developed cerebral fat embolism, a rare condition where fat droplets from a fractured bone travel to the brain causing clots.

He was declared brain-dead, remained on life support, and was declared dead on July 23 after his birthday.

Reddy, from Telangana's Nirmal district, had moved to the US three years ago to study EMS and recently started a job in Detroit.
