Rowdy brandishes long machete, threatens public and police in Bengaluru

Sufiyan, a 31-year-old DJ Halli resident, brandished a long machete on Oil Mill Road, threatening passersby and demanding money.

When police arrived, Sufiyan threatened to kill them, showed blades and glass pieces, and said he would attempt suicide to falsely implicate them.

Sufiyan pushed officers aside and escaped around 9:45pm on July 30, but was caught the same night.

Police registered a case under BNS sections 226 and 351 and the Arms Act.

Sufiyan has prior criminal cases, including attempt to murder, attempt at robbery, and NDPS offences.
