Delhi scheme may lock ₹1,500 of aid in RD

Under the proposed Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, women beneficiaries may receive ₹2,500 monthly aid, but only ₹1,000 can be withdrawn immediately.
The remaining ₹1,500 will be locked in a recurring deposit (RD) account for three years before full withdrawal is allowed.
The Delhi government renamed the Mahia Samriddhi Yojana to Delhi Lakshmi Yojana and finalised eligibility criteria, pending Cabinet approval.
Eligible women must be Delhi residents for at least 10 years, aged 21–60, with one per household, and submit Aadhaar and voter ID documents.
The scheme is planned to launch around Raksha Bandhan, with an online portal to be tested after Cabinet and Lieutenant Governor approval.
