Polish long-distance swimmer Bartłomiej Kubkowski became the first person to swim across the Baltic Sea from Sweden to Poland.
He swam more than 160 km from Kåseberga on the Swedish coast to Dziwnów in Poland in around 55 hours.
Kubkowski completed the crossing without sleeping and without touching his support boat, which followed for safety.
He is the creator of the Ultra Baltic Swim project, a world record holder in 24-hour swimming, and had made four previous failed attempts before this fifth and final one.
His team provided navigation, food, and safety, and he experienced hallucinations after two nights without sleep.
