Maharashtra Aggregator Policy Imposes 5x Penalty On Drivers Cancelling Airport, Railway & Hospital Rides

  1. The Maharashtra Motor Vehicle Aggregator Rules, 2026 impose a fivefold penalty on drivers who cancel rides to airports, railway stations and hospitals after accepting a booking.

  2. Normal driver cancellation penalty is ₹100 (10% of fare capped at ₹100); for critical destinations it is 5x (₹500).

  3. Penalty amounts from drivers are credited to the rider's app account.

  4. Riders who cancel without valid reason pay a 5% penalty capped at ₹100, credited to the driver.

  5. If a cab develops a mechanical fault, aggregators must arrange an alternate vehicle within 30 minutes (municipal limits) or 60 minutes (intercity >100 km), or face penalties.
