Mumbai: BMC Appoints Three-Member Expert Committee To Reinvestigate Chembur Tree Fall Tragedy, Report Due In 1

BMC appointed a three-member expert committee to reinvestigate the Chembur tree fall tragedy, led by botany expert Prof. Dr Sanjay Deshmukh.

The re-investigation follows the rejection of a preliminary inquiry report that gave a clean chit to Roads and Gardens departments.

The committee will study methodology, root cause, and recommend policy reforms; report due in one month to Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Bhide.

Mayor Ritu Tawde directed the re-investigation after BMC general body found no action against officers or engineers.
