Kandula Jessie, a 14-year-old from Dowleswaram, Andhra Pradesh, is selected for Mission ShakthiSAT, the world's first all-girls lunar CubeSat mission.
Jessie is one of 20 Indian participants chosen from nearly 12,000 registrations across 108 countries, and the only student from Andhra Pradesh.
Her science teacher Manimala at Zilla Parishad Girls High School (ZPGHS) registered her for the programme and secured a second opportunity after coursework began.
Jessie will travel to New Delhi for hands-on training and satellite design as part of the mission.
The opportunity offers her a potential career path in space science, with aspirations to join ISRO.
