Maharashtra Resumes Open-Sea Fishing After Monsoon Ban; Coastal Curbs On Mechanised Boats Continue Till Aug 15

Open-sea fishing in Maharashtra resumed after the annual monsoon fishing ban ended on July 31.

Restrictions on mechanised boats within 12 nautical miles of the coast continue until August 15.

The extended restriction aims to protect juvenile fish and support sustainable fish production.

Traditional fishermen using authorised small craft are still permitted to fish in the 12-nautical-mile zone.
