Rain batters Lucknow roads, potholes multiply
Rain has caused potholes and damaged roads across Lucknow localities including Sushant Golf City, Hewett Road, Ahimamau, Gomti Nagar Extension, Vibhuti Khand, Narhi, and Vikramaditya Marg.
On Vikramaditya Marg near the railway crossing, deep potholes span almost the entire road width, forcing motorists to slow down and two-wheeler riders to struggle with balance.
In Gomti Nagar Extension, roads behind LDA's Shipra Apartments have deteriorated, with rainwater-filled potholes making commuting difficult for residents.
A damaged section on the service lane beneath the flyover towards Lohia crossing remains filled with rainwater, increasing accident risk.
Lucknow Municipal Corporation chief engineer Mahesh Verma said repairs and reconstruction works have been sanctioned and will begin shortly.
