2 men stabbed in New York City, Mamdani opens hate crime probe

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani ordered a hate crime probe after two men were stabbed.

The victims are an Asian man and a Jewish man, both stabbed in their back and chest respectively.

Witnesses and victims said the attacker yelled 'Allahu Akbar' during both attacks.

The stabbings occurred on Thursday afternoon in nearby locations in New York City.

Both victims were taken to the hospital in stable condition and are expected to survive.
