Leopold Aschenbrenner, the ‘Nostradamus of AI’, set to marry Anthropic CEO’s chief of staff

Leopold Aschenbrenner, former OpenAI researcher, is marrying Avital Balwit, chief of staff to Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, in Carmel, California.

The couple met while working at FTX Future Fund, the philanthropic arm of Sam Bankman-Fried's cryptocurrency empire.

Aschenbrenner is known as the 'Nostradamus of AI' for his AI predictions that helped build his hedge fund, Situational Awareness.

Situational Awareness reported a 439% return by end of June 2026 but fell 67% in July during an AI stock sell-off.

The fund sold the bulk of its public-equity portfolio to Ken Griffin's Citadel.
