Watch: Bison flings man eight feet into air in dramatic attack at US Yellowstone National Park
A man sustained serious injuries after a bull bison charged and flung him approximately eight feet into the air at Yellowstone National Park.
The incident occurred at the Bridge Bay Campground when the victim and his grandson were on an evening walk.
Bystanders, including photographer Mike MacLeod, shouted and rushed the bison, successfully driving it away from the injured man.
Emergency responders transported the man for treatment, who reported severe pain in his hip and leg and was later confirmed to have significant injuries.
The attack happened during Yellowstone's annual bison mating season, or rut, when male bison are known to be more territorial and aggressive.
