Highway Bidding Down 48 Per cent As NHAI Targets 54 Projects Covering 2,442 Km In FY27 Compared To 124 Projects Last Year

NHAI plans to award 54 highway and expressway projects in FY27, covering 2,442 km with a capital cost of Rs 1.80 lakh crore.

This is down from 124 projects covering 6,376 km worth Rs 3.45 lakh crore in FY26, a 48% reduction in projects.

Projects are spread across 13 states including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Bihar.

of the 54 projects will follow the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) model, where the government covers full construction cost.

The reduction in bidding volume could impact revenue visibility for road construction companies and engineering firms.
