UK PM Andy Burnham announces a 20% cut in business rates for pubs, clubs, and live music venues in England from April 2027.
The new discount is expected to benefit nearly 32,000 venues, saving the average pub around £1,100 ($1,472) next year.
The measure will cost the government about £100 million, funded through tax relief changes for vape shops and tighter enforcement.
The cut adds to a previous 15% business rates reduction for pubs and music venues introduced earlier in 2026.
UKHospitality chief Allen Simpson welcomed the move but said restaurants and hotels also need meaningful relief.
