‘Declared dead’, woman gets ration card back after HC intervention

The Allahabad High Court directed Prayagraj district magistrate and district supply officer to appear in court and restore Chanda Devi's ration card after she was declared dead in revenue records.

The court ordered that a revised ration card for her entire family be issued by August 3, 2026, and that due ration be provided at prescribed rates.

The DM and DSO acknowledged their mistake and handed over Aadhar Card and Ration Card to the petitioner in court.
