World sees China and Xi more favourably than the US and Trump: Survey

Pew Research Centre survey finds most of the world now views China and Xi Jinping more favourably than the US and Donald Trump.

In 25 of 36 countries and territories surveyed, people favoured China and Xi over the US and Trump.

The result reverses a yearslong trend where the US was consistently preferred over communist China.

The survey attributes the shift to damage done by Donald Trump to US standing in just 18 months.
