One Assam Rifles soldier killed in IED blast in Nagaland; 4 injured: Officials

One Assam Rifles soldier was killed and four others injured in a suspected IED blast at Shokhuvi in Nagaland’s Chümoukedima district on July 13, 2026.
The explosion occurred around 2:30pm, 500 metres from the main gate of the Assam Rifles Training Center (ARTC) Shokhuvi.
The suspected IED was reportedly kept in an autorickshaw parked on the roadside, according to Nagaland DGP Rupin Sharma.
Injured personnel were admitted to the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research Dimapur for medical attention.
This is the second attack on Assam Rifles in a week; on July 6, two personnel were killed in an ambush in Manipur’s Ukhrul district.
