Adil Hussain urges stars to look beyond box office
in5points
Actor Adil Hussain urged established stars to support independent films, citing Vijay Sethupathi's involvement in 'Kadaisi Vivasayi' and Brad Pitt's in 'The Tree of Life'.
Hussain ran away from home in Assam to pursue acting, as his parents were initially unconvinced about his career choice.
In 1996, Hussain considered becoming an activist or opening an NGO but his teacher advised that acting gives audiences the rare gift of empathy.
Hussain clarified he is not a 'political actor' but simply an artist, and has never chased fame or box office success in his 40+ year career.
His new film 'Max, Mini Aur Meowzaki' is currently playing in theatres.
