CJP representatives meet ministers, demand Pradhan's exit

CJP representatives Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das met Union ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh for two hours on Friday but remained firm on demand for Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.

The government pushed through a stringent bill cracking down on paper leaks, sacked top officers at the National Testing Agency, and moved to hire specialists.

CJP submitted a written memorandum with three main demands and five reform suggestions for exams; another meeting is scheduled for Saturday.

The government expressed in-principle approval on demands for compensation for families of NEET aspirants who died by suicide and withdrawal of FIRs and legal cases on students.

CJP memorandum also demanded an apology from security forces and the government for violence on July 20, warning the movement would grow if demands are not accepted.
