Man hurt in open firing incident in Ghorpade Peth; one arrested

Khadak police arrested history-sheeter Sujal Pardeshi for open firing in Ghorpade Peth, PUNE, that injured Noor Sheikh.

The firing occurred near Ghorpade Peth police chowki on Friday, linked to an old rivalry between the two groups.

Police recovered an empty bullet round from the spot; Sheikh is an important witness in the Vanraj Andekar murder case.

Both the accused and the injured man have criminal backgrounds; investigation into motive and other suspects is ongoing.

Two separate firing incidents in Lohiyanagar followed, with no injuries; police suspect juveniles involved.
