Airport User Development Fee Rises About 300% Nationwide

User Development Fees (UDF) at major Indian airports have increased by 200% domestically and 387% internationally over the past four years.

Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport saw the steepest hike, with international UDF surging 1,300% from Rs 85 to Rs 1,190.

Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport raised international embarking fees for economy passengers by 400%, from Rs 130 to Rs 650, while domestic fees slightly decreased.

Kolkata's Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport was the only major hub to reduce both domestic and international UDF by 6%.

The hikes are determined by the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA) to fund capital expenditure and operational costs.
