Bihar's dairy push: New plant in Nalanda to boost farmer incomes, create jobs

Bihar laid foundation for a 20 MTPD curd and lassi processing plant in Nalanda under COMFED's Sudha brand.

The plant aims to meet rising demand for value-added dairy products and prepare Sudha for global competition.

COMFED formed over 2,500 new dairy cooperative societies in 100 days, increasing milk procurement by over 300,000 litres per day.

Future plans include expanding Sudha Sakhi, PM's Veterinary Medicine Centres, and livestock breed improvement projects in Lakhisarai and Munger.

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said Sudha is the backbone of millions of dairy farmers' livelihoods in Bihar.
