Karnataka State Lottery Retailers' Association says the state loses Rs 5,000-6,000 crore annually because of its ban on lottery ticket sales.
Kerala lottery tickets are being sold illegally in Karnataka, with transactions worth hundreds of crores every day.
The association urged the Karnataka government to stop illegal Kerala lottery sales and revive a legally regulated state lottery.
Association president C Ramakrishna said a revived lottery could generate Rs 5,000-6,000 crore in annual revenue.
Lottery sales were legal in Karnataka until 2007, when the government banned them due to single-digit lottery issues.
