Yellow eyes, dark urine, and more: Gastroenterologist explains the hepatitis symptoms that need immediate attention

Hepatitis symptoms include yellow eyes, dark urine, itchy skin, fatigue, nausea, loss of appetite, abdominal discomfort, and fever.

Hepatitis can be caused by viral infections (Hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E), excessive alcohol consumption, certain medications, autoimmune diseases, or fatty liver disease.

Dr Sanjay Khanna of Manipal Institute of Gastroenterology advises getting vaccinated against Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B, limiting alcohol intake, avoiding shared razors or needles, and maintaining good hygiene to protect the liver.

Early diagnosis is essential to prevent silent progression of liver damage.
