Supreme Court orders new SIT into Ram temple donation theft, will monitor probe
Supreme Court ousted local police from investigating Ayodhya Ram Mandir fund embezzlement and ordered a new SIT led by a senior IPS officer.
The bench, led by CJI Surya Kant, directed Shri Ram Teerth Kshetra Trust to preserve all donation receipts and accounts for scrutiny by the SIT.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta reported that eight persons have been arrested in the case.
The court cautioned against politicizing the investigation, stating it must be fair, impartial, and transparent.
