SAD (Punar Surjit) constitutes youth wing, Talwandi appointed president

Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjit) constituted its Youth Akali Dal on Friday, with Gurjit Singh Talwandi appointed as president.

Party secretary general Gurpratap Singh Wadala announced the appointments, made on directions of party president Giani Harpreet Singh.

Gurjit Singh Talwandi is the grandson of former Shiromani Akali Dal and SGPC president Jathedar Jagdev Singh Talwandi, and has a master's degree in international political relations from the University of London.

Advocate Surtej Singh Bassi was appointed secretary general and chief spokesperson of the youth wing, with several senior vice-presidents and general secretaries also named.

The newly formed team is tasked with completing the organisational structure from state to district and booth levels within 15 days, and will tour Punjab to mobilise young people.
