Science students face uncertainty as flagship ₹80,000-a-year scholarship remains in limbo

The Department of Science and Technology (DST) has not issued a notification for the INSPIRE-SHE scholarship since 2024.

The scholarship offers ₹80,000 per year to around 12,000 students aged 17–22 in basic and natural sciences.

Eligibility includes top 1% in Class 12 board exams or admission via national entrance exams like JEE.

The application cycle typically runs from September to October-November, with results by May-June.

DST has not responded to queries about the 2025 cycle or whether the scholarship has been discontinued.
