'Trainspotting: The Musical' UK tour announces cancellation

The nationwide UK tour of 'Trainspotting: The Musical' has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales.

The cancellation was announced by performer and resident director Keiran Brown, citing the 'current economic climate' and lower-than-expected ticket sales.

The production's West End run at Theatre Royal Haymarket concludes on September 5, after which no further shows are available.

Ticket holders will receive refunds from their point of purchase.

The tour was scheduled to visit Sheffield, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Manchester, with Edinburgh sales reportedly at 19 percent.
