Ben, Casey Affleck's mother Chris Anne dies at 83

Chris Anne Boldt, mother of Ben and Casey Affleck, died on June 2 at age 83 after a six-month battle with pancreatic cancer diagnosed in December 2025.

She graduated from Harvard and taught public school for 35 years, retiring in 2008, and was a civil rights activist and freedom rider in the 1960s.

Chris Anne used her Harvard contacts to help Ben Affleck connect with casting director Patty Collins, aiding his early career and eventual Oscar win for Good Will Hunting.

After her diagnosis, her greatest wish was to see her grandson graduate high school, which she attended on May 31, 2026, and died peacefully in her sleep two days later.
