Kerala CM says govt prepared to tackle rain-related emergencies

Kerala Chief Minister V D Satheesan said the government is fully prepared to tackle rain-related emergencies.

Satheesan spoke to the Revenue Minister, Chief Secretary, and district collectors after landslides and mudslides were reported.

At least three people were killed in separate landslides in Idukki and Kottayam districts on Saturday.

The India Meteorological Department issued a red alert for Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts.

District administrations declared a holiday for educational institutions in several districts due to adverse weather.
