Man, 50, booked for ₹26 lakh fraud

A 50-year-old man, Prasad Uddhav Shirsath, was booked by Manjari police on July 29 for allegedly cheating a 43-year-old Shewalwadi resident of ₹26 lakh.

The fraud occurred between July 15, 2022, and November 24, 2025, after the complainant's name was deleted from the 7/12 extract of an ancestral property.

Shirsath met the complainant at a Bank of Baroda branch in Hadapsar and claimed connections with senior revenue officials to restore the name.

The complainant paid ₹26 lakh in instalments over four years, but the work was never completed, leading to a police complaint under BNS cheating provisions.
