Tom Cruise to return for 'Days of Thunder' sequel

Paramount Pictures is developing a sequel to the 1990 racing drama 'Days of Thunder'.

Tom Cruise will reprise his role as NASCAR driver Cole Trickle and produce alongside Jerry Bruckheimer.

Jonathan Levine is the studio's top choice to direct 'Days of Thunder 2'.

Fans are speculating whether Nicole Kidman will return as Dr. Claire Lewicki.

Paramount has not announced a release date for the sequel.
