Chandigarh: Retired IPS evicted from Sector-19 government house

Retired IPS officer SK Asthana was evicted from his government house in Sector 19, Chandigarh.

Asthana, a 1993-batch Punjab cadre IPS officer, retired on May 31, 2025, and failed to vacate despite an eviction order under the Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1971.

The UT estate office authorized officials to remove unauthorized occupants, and possession of House No. 6/3020, Sector 19 was taken over by a work inspector.
