SVKM's Pravin Gandhi Law College first Mumbai University law institute to become autonomous

SVKM’s Pravin Gandhi Law College is the first law college under Mumbai University to receive autonomous status from the UGC for 10 years, effective from the current academic year to 2035-36.

Autonomy allows the college to redesign its curriculum, introduce interdisciplinary courses, adopt innovative teaching methods, and strengthen industry engagement.

The college plans to revise its five-year BA LLB programme to include law subjects along with liberal disciplines in the first two years.

The college is awaiting a formal notification from Mumbai University, which is required within 30 days per UGC regulations.

It is the only law college in the city to receive an A+ grade from NAAC in its first accreditation cycle.
