Khattar pushes Bhalswa legacy waste clearance by Oct 15, fresh waste by Dec 31

Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal reviewed legacy waste remediation at Bhalswa landfill and directed MCD to expedite fresh waste processing.

As of July 31, 99.07 lakh metric tonnes of legacy waste had been remediated at Bhalswa.

MCD expects remaining legacy waste at Bhalswa to be cleared by October 15, and waste accumulated up to March 2026 by December 31.

Khattar has personally monitored the project since September 17 last year and assigned senior officials to supervise.

Bhalswa is one of Delhi's three legacy dumpsites, with Okhla and Bhalswa scheduled for clearance by December 2026 and Ghazipur by December 2027.
