Punjab, Haryana CMs to attend PM Modi’s ₹5,278-crore highway projects flag off in Chandigarh

PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate highway projects worth ₹5,278 crore in Chandigarh on July 17, 2026, with Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini attending.

The 31-km six-lane Greenfield Highway from IT City to Kurali, costing ₹1,936 crore, is inaugurated to ease traffic congestion between Chandigarh and Mohali.

Foundation stones are laid for the 10.3-km Ambala-Chandigarh Greenfield Highway (₹1,464 crore) and the 19.2-km Zirakpur Bypass (₹1,878 crore) to decongest Zirakpur and improve inter-state connectivity.

The projects aim to enable high-speed, safer travel and reduce travel time, strengthening logistics networks in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.
