Volunteers transform public urination hotspot behind Bengaluru’s Nimhans

Volunteers transformed a public urination spot behind the Nimhans campus in Bengaluru's Jayanagar 1st Block into a clean space.

The initiative was a joint effort by Bengaluru Central City Corporation, Youth For Parivarthan, and corporate volunteers from Oracle.

About 60 volunteers pressure-washed the wall and footpath, then painted portraits and mandala artwork with cleanliness messages.

Parivarthan founder Amith Amarnath said the site disproves the excuse of lacking toilets, as a functional public toilet is 100 metres away.

Volunteers confronted individuals attempting to urinate on the cleaned wall, hoping the effort encourages behavioural change.
